My name is Luke Zavala and Iām an atmospheric science student at University of Nevada-Reno (UNR)! I research fire-atmosphere dynamics (pyro-tornadogenesis, pyro-convective events, complex fire progression) as an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. Neil Lareau. My research interests include tornadogenesis, supercell dynamics, and extreme event modeling with an ultimate career goal to create better conceptual models of supercells/tornadoes in order to increase warning time through improved forecasting methods.
